Posts tagged door bell

In the last two days I’ve watched (from the window in front of my desk) three different solicitors come up to my front door.  I brace for the door bell which sends the dogs barking and scrambling down the stairs. 

But it never comes.  Then I watch the guys walk back down my driveway and leave. 

It finally dawned on me that my doorbell is broken. That’s why the dogs are still sleeping in their beds and all is peaceful in our tiny house.  

I’ve decided not to fix the doorbell.  If they really need me, they’ll knock.  Three cheers for quiet evenings.
