People who have dogs that destroy toys spend a lot of money buying toys that are supposed to be tough, but get ripped to pieces in less time than it took to go to the store to buy the toy.

If your dog destroys everything, it’s time to check out GoughNuts. More expensive than your average toy, they’re worth every penny, because they really do last. These super tough, solid toys are so hard core, I know a family with three pit bulls that have had one black ring for over a year, subjected to heavy use, and it doesn’t have a dent in it.

My own dog, Boogie, who rips apart “Tuffies” and other toys designed for heavy chewers, could barely lift the large black ring. I finally got him the lighter green ring, same size, and it suited him better. That’s the first time I had to find a less-tough toy for Boogie!
Not only are they super tough, but they have a nice safety feature - the inner red core. If your dog does manage to do some damage, then you know it’s still safe for them to play with, until you can see the red core. I’ve never seen the red core, because I’ve never seen a damaged GoughNuts in real life, but I believe that it exists.

The store where I used to work sold these, and every time I sent one home, I would ask the customers to let me know if their dogs were able to rip these up. Not one customer had a dog that destroyed these and never once did they get returned. Unheard of from a customer base that liked to return bags of $80 kibble, 3/4 empty, wanting their money back because the dog didn’t like the food.
GoughNuts the real deal folks. And I don’t get paid to say that…I’m just a GN fan.
Check out the website here and, if you buy one, let me know if your dog can crack this nut!

I wrote this for my buddy Sarge, a 16.75 year old pit bull that passed away this week, and his mom Kim, an amazing animal welfare advocate.
Please consider donating to the Sarge Fund at Philly PAWS in his honor: http://www.phillypaws.org/Donate/default.asp
I just got a call that my copy of Saving Audie has arrived at my local bookstore (that’s Audie pictured here at a lunch date we had during my time at Bad Rap’s Pit Ed camp).
The voicemail went something like this: ”Hi Jessica. This is Royal River Books. Your pit bull book arrived at the store today.”
To which I say: The Amazing Audie arrived at your store today. You best Recognize!
I’m headed to Edgar’s for the weekend! Even though he’s being de-wormed for the next few days (blech), I’m still psyched on taking care of him. I refuse to let the squirts get in the way of our love!

Guess who I get to visit this morning? Edgar the Elderbull! He’s going to give me a tour of his new home, so we can have a slumber party next weekend. Frankly, even I’m jealous of me right now.
I wrote an update about the OH200 dogs that are still waiting to be adopted. Spread the news that these deserving dogs are looking for love! Click on the photo for the full article…
